About me
Claudia Rozenberg, LCSW, MsECE
As an experienced LCSW and early childhood professional, I provide individualized support to children 0-12, teens, adults, and families. Depending on what you’re looking for, I may work directly with a child, meet one-on-one with an adult or parent, or work with the whole family unit. Sometimes the focus is on the child. Sometimes the adults need support of their own. And sometimes, working together as a family makes the most sense. My role is to meet you where you are and help figure out what kind of support will be most useful.
I’ve worked with kids through some really tough moments. I approach challenging behavior with curiosity rather than judgment because all behavior has meaning. Instead of simply trying to stop a behavior, I want to understand what a child is trying to communicate and what might be getting in the way. From there, we can work on skills and strategies that help children and families navigate big emotions and challenging moments in safer, more effective ways.
Some behaviors I work with include:
Big outbursts
Aggression
Profanity
School refusal
Boundary challenges
Toileting behaviors
Other forms of dysregulation
I also support adults and parents as they navigate the many challenges that come with raising children, both neurotypical and neurodiverse. This might mean figuring out what’s happening at home or school, guiding your family through transition planning for a child with disabilities, working through parenting struggles or behavioral concerns, or having a place to talk through the stress these challenges can bring to family and partner relationships.
Some concerns I work with in adults and parents include:
Parenting struggles and behavioral concerns
Navigating neurotypical and neurodiverse children
Transition Services for neurodiverse students
Stress, overwhelm, and burnout
Anxiety and depression
Strain on partner and family relationships
Life transitions and adjustment
Figuring out what’s happening at home or school
Whether you’re looking for therapy or consultation, you don’t need to have it all figured out. Reach out for a free initial conversation to see what might be the best fit.
Credentials
LCSW- I have extensive experience working with individuals and families across diverse settings and developmental stages. My work includes coaching adults in education, career development, and parenting; supporting new parents and infants; and working with adolescents in after-school programs. I have also supported young children and families in urban early childhood programs, particularly in underserved communities and immigrant populations. My experience includes working collaboratively with neurodivergent children and teens, their families, and educational teams to support individual needs and promote positive outcomes. I have experience advocating for children and families within school settings, helping them navigate the Individualized Education Program (IEP) process, as well as the Chicago Public Schools (CPS) and private school application processes. Across these experiences, I value building trusting relationships, recognizing each individual’s strengths, and helping families navigate educational systems and access the resources and support they need to thrive.
My approach is grounded in family systems theory and informed by an understanding of how trauma and stress shape children, parents, and families. I tailor therapy to the unique strengths and needs of each client, with a focus on safety, trust, and collaboration. I prioritize building a secure therapeutic relationship, drawing on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for emotional regulation and play-based approaches for children and adolescents.
MsECE- I hold a Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education and have more than 15 years of teaching and directing early childhood programs with experience in Jewish early childhood programs, The Project Approach through the Kohl Children’s Museum, The Virginia Frank Childhood Development Center Relationship-based Phase model, and The Reggio Emilia approach. My experience also includes training and supporting teachers in the Reggio Emilia approach to teaching.
Professional Educator License- I hold my PEL (Professional Educators License) in the state of Illinois.
